Welcome to the Stowe Yacht Club

 

Stowe Yacht Club is dedicated to the art and passion of model yacht building and sailing. One of our goals is to promote the sport of Remote Control sailing. The public is always welcome and encouraged to visit the pond during either of our regular race days. For more information, go to our “About Us” page. 2026 Sailing Season :

The 2025 season had a good showing with a  number of return skippers and several new members. As always, the weather wasn’t always cooperative, but, as the season progressed, we had good weekly participation and all in all there was a good sailing season.

We are looking forward to promoting our "loan to own program" that may make it more enticing to new sailors to become more involved. A couple of members have taken on the task of restoring older boats to racing condition. We now have more than 5 boats ready to sail / race for the 2026 season. The public is always welome to attend any of our weekly sailing sessions, Monday and Wedhesday starting at 3:00 each day.

 

Unfortunately this year's Green Mountain Regatta has been cancelled due to low registration. We will try to put together the regatta for next year.

In August, we are hosting the Region 1 Championship Regatta for the Soling 1M's

 Club Sailing and Racing Information:    

 The 2025 Season started shortly after the weekend of the Green Mountain Regatta with good attendence for the first race day with 8 skippers.  Our full contigent of skippers would be in attendences over the following week or two. The season went through until October until Mother Nature started to close the door on nice sailing weather. Things start slowing down as soon as hands and thumbs get cold and "toques" become the norm.

   The AMYA is very supportive of all the clubs and helps with some of our major regattas.

  

  Club News: 

Our club isn't all about Mon. and Wed. Soling 1M racing. As noted above, our club takes great pride in hosting the annual, Green Mountain Regattas. It takes many people to manage these  events. We encourage all sailors to get involved on the management side of things as we can always use extra help to carry out successful regattas and as a bonus, participants learn what goes into managing a regatta and by observing other competitors, sailors can improve their own perspective of the racing experience. 

Thank You to the regular club members who are reliable every year, to help keep our pond and facilities in great condition. Special thanks to Bruce and his staff for the exceptional maintenance of the grounds and the hospitality of  this venue and its great location for the club members to use for our enjoyment.
